OPS Tutor Opportunity

Tallahassee State College (TSC), recently recognized as one of the Most Promising Places to Work in Community Colleges for 2025, is excited to announce a part-time opportunity for the position of OPS Tutor with the Learning Commons Department. We are seeking a dedicated professional who shares our commitment to fostering a vibrant workplace community.

What You'll Do

This position will be responsible for providing small group and one-on-one tutoring services to TSC students in one or more specific areas:

  • Anatomy and Physiology

  • Mathematics (Liberal Arts, Statistics, College Algebra* through Calculus)

  • Communications (Writing, Public Speaking, Reading)

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, up to 25 hours per week; Must be available at least 15 hours weekly.

Who We're Looking For

We're seeking a candidate who brings not only technical expertise but also a passion for education and student success. Our ideal candidate will have:

This position requires successful completion of coursework, and the candidate is proficient in subjects they are interested in tutoring. A college degree is not required but is preferred. Candidates for the position will be required to pass a qualifying exam (80% or higher) to tutor in a subject or course. For math, business, technology, and science courses, a grade of 'A' in a specific course within one year of the potential start date will qualify an applicant to tutor that subject in lieu of an exam. For math, candidates must have completed and be able to tutor College Algebra (MAC1105 or MAC1105C). For communications, candidates must have completed ENC1101 and ENC1102.

  • Recommendation Letter

OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS: Successful hires must be able to attend mandatory training scheduled prior to Semester start, and complete training within set time frames.
