Duration: 12 months contractOverview- We are seeking a hands-on Assembly Technician to support the build of precision optical and optomechanical subassemblies used in advanced inspection and manufacturing equipment.
- This is a hands-on assembly role.
- The ideal candidate does not need semiconductor or optical inspection experience.
- Candidates with mechanical, electromechanical, electrical, robotics, or other precision assembly experience are encouraged to apply.
What You’ll Do- Assemble precision mechanical, electromechanical and optical subassemblies using standard hand tools and work instructions.
- Build and install components such as lenses, light-source-related components, fixtures and other small precision parts.
- Follow assembly drawings, SOPs, work instructions and applicable quality requirements.
- Use hand tools and basic measurement equipment to complete accurate assembly.
- Perform visual inspection, basic checks, rework and troubleshooting as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
- Collaborate with technicians, engineers and manufacturing teams to support production goals.
What We’re Looking For- 2+ years of hands-on assembly experience preferred.
- Experience in mechanical, electromechanical, electrical, optical, robotics, mechatronics or precision assembly.
- Comfortable working with basic hand tools and small components.
- Ability to follow technical instructions, drawings and established assembly procedures.
- Good manual dexterity, attention to detail and a quality-focused approach.
- Technical/Associate degree or vocational training is preferred, but equivalent hands-on experience will be considered.

Important
Semiconductor or optical inspection experience is not required.
- You will not primarily be operating an inspection system or performing semiconductor wafer inspection.
- This position is focused on physically building and assembling the precision subassemblies that become part of advanced inspection equipment.
- Public information on the underlying equipment shows that these systems incorporate broadband optical illumination, sophisticated optical objectives and high-speed sensing technologies, which is why precision assembly and attention to detail are important in the manufacturing environment.
Education / Experience- High school diploma with relevant hands-on experience or
- Associate degree / technical certification in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing or a related field.
