    Job Description

    Job Overview

Are you organized, personable, creative, and someone who enjoys a job where no two days look exactly the same? We may be looking for you!

The Optical Programs Coordinator is an important part of the Oregon Lions Sight & Hearing Foundation (OLSHF) team. This position welcomes visitors, keeps our front office and optical programs running smoothly, supports our optical team, and helps us connect with our community both in person and online.

This is a great role for someone who enjoys working with people, staying organized, learning new things, and wearing a variety of hats. One day may include answering phones, helping someone select eyeglass frames, processing optical orders, preparing for a community event, updating our online shop, or creating a social media post.

Optical experience is a plus, but not required. We're happy to train the right person!

Please note: Health benefits are 100% employer paid and include health, dental, and vision insurance, short and long term disability, Oregon Paid Leave equivalent plan, life, and AD&D.

    Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:45 a.m. - 5:15 p.m.

Occasional evenings and weekends may be required with advance notice.

    What You'll Do

Be the welcoming face of OLSHF

    • Welcome guests, patients, volunteers, Lions members, and community partners.
    • Manage incoming calls, emails, and inquiries and connect people with the right team member or resource.
    • Help maintain a friendly, organized, and welcoming office environment.

    Keep things organized and moving

    • Coordinate front office activities including data entry, scanning, shipping, mail, clerical support, and phone coverage.
    • Help manage the daily opening and closing of the office and Eye Promise Optical shop.
    • Manage inventory and prepare optical and program supplies for distribution, outreach, and events.
    • Perform quality-control checks and help ensure orders are accurate and ready to go.

    Learn the optical world

    • Support our optical team with day-to-day shop and program needs.
    • Assist customers with eyeglass frame selection while developing a basic understanding of prescriptions, lenses, frames, and optical terminology.
    • Process orders and transactions for the Lions Eyeglass Assistance Program (LEAP) and Eye Promise Optical.

    Grow our online presence

    • Develop and manage our e-commerce platforms, including products, descriptions, pricing, photos, inventory, and promotions.
    • Help grow and improve Eye Promise Optical's online shopping experience.
    • Develop and manage social media content for Eye Promise Optical, including posts, promotions, program highlights, and events.
    • Capture photos and create engaging content that showcases our products, people, programs, and community impact.
    • Bring creative ideas for growing engagement and reaching new audiences.

    Share our mission

    • Learn about OLSHF's programs and confidently communicate our mission and services to the community.
    • Provide a positive experience for the wide variety of people we serve.
    • Maintain confidentiality and follow privacy requirements when handling sensitive information.

    What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is dependable, approachable, curious, and comfortable wearing different hats. You don't need to know everything on day one. A willingness to learn, contribute, and be part of a team is important to us.

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Strong organizational, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
    • Reliable, flexible, efficient, and able to bring a sense of humor to the workday.
    • Friendly and comfortable working with a diverse range of people.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Comfortable with technology and learning new platforms.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Experience with social media, content creation, e-commerce, online retail, or digital marketing is a plus.
    • Bilingual skills are a plus.
    • Optical experience is preferred, but we're willing to train the right candidate.
    • Ability to occasionally lift 25-40 pounds.

    Why This Role?

This isn't a job where you'll sit at a front desk doing the same thing all day. It's a hands-on, collaborative position that touches many parts of our organization, from optical and nonprofit programs to community outreach, e-commerce, and social media.

If you like helping people, staying organized, being creative, and pitching in wherever you're needed, we'd love to hear from you!

    To apply:
