Optical Sales Associate Responsibilities
As an Optical Sales Associate, you will:
- Deliver exceptional customer service from check-in through eyewear dispensing.
- Verify vision insurance eligibility and explain available patient benefits.
- Process orders for prescription eyeglasses and contact lenses accurately.
- Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and premium lens options that best fit their lifestyle and vision needs.
- Educate patients on lens materials, coatings, blue light protection, progressive lenses, and other vision solutions.
- Coordinate with optical laboratories regarding order status and delivery timelines.
- Perform billing, documentation, and order tracking with a high level of accuracy.
- Maintain a clean, organized optical dispensary while supporting the doctors and clinical staff.
- Build long-term patient relationships through outstanding service and product knowledge.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Two or more years of optical sales, optical retail, or optician experience preferred.
- Strong customer service and sales skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with vision insurance verification is preferred.
