About the Role:Vision Source Kerrville is looking for a passionate and personable Optician to join our team— no experience necessary! Responsibilities:- Assist patients in selecting eyewear frames and lenses that fit their lifestyle, prescription, and personal style
- Take and record accurate measurements for proper eyeglass fitting
- Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and frame materials
- Process eyewear orders and communicate with optical labs
- Perform frame adjustments, repairs, and dispensing of finished eyewear
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the patient experience
- Maintain an organized, visually appealing optical dispensary
Experience/Education:- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous optical experience is welcome but not required.
- Candidates with experience in customer service, hospitality, medical offices, fashion retail, sales, or other patient-facing roles are encouraged to apply.
- We are willing to provide structured training for a motivated candidate who demonstrates strong character, reliability, and the desire to learn.
Physical and Work Requirements:The employee must be able to:
- Remain standing or walking for portions of the workday.
- Use a computer and other office equipment.
- Handle and adjust small eyewear components.
- Communicate clearly with patients and coworkers.
- Occasionally lift and move routine office or inventory items.
- Maintain focus and accuracy in a busy patient-care environment.
- Work the agreed schedule reliably and arrive on time.
Schedule:This position may be structured as either part-time or full-time depending on the needs of the practice and the availability of the selected candidate.
Candidates should clearly communicate their regular availability during the interview process. Some flexibility may be needed to help cover patient-care needs, employee absences, training, and busy periods.
