Job Summary

Performs inventory and sales support for managing optician. Works directly with customers in order to provide care throughout their visit whether it is for exams, procedures or surgeries.

Essential Functions

• Assists with inventory and sales.

• Monitors stock of supplies and proper functioning of equipment.

• Inserts, removes and cares for contact lenses

• Advises patients on any necessary repairs or adjustments

• Takes eye and facial measurements to correctly interpret prescriptions. Guides patients when selecting frames for proper fit and styling

• Basic bookkeeping duties associated with tracking patient's orders and recording purchases and other necessary information for each patient

• Prepares work order for optical laboratory

• Maintains displays.

• Ensures that all orders arrive and are to the specifications of the patient

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibility

• This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

Minimum Requirements

• Education - Course work beyond high school preferred

• Experience - Optician experience preferred.

• Team members employed in this job prior to July 1, 2020, are grandfathered under prior educational and experience requirements. In addition, team members must be certification eligible and will have one year to obtain required certification.

Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses

• Board of Examiners in Opticianry in state in which work is performed.
