A bit about us:

We are seeking a skilled and patient-focused Optician Specialist to support the delivery of comprehensive vision care services. This individual will play a key role in assisting patients with eyewear selection, fittings, and adjustments while ensuring an exceptional and culturally sensitive patient experience.

Onsite | Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm

Job Details

Key Responsibilities

Assist patients in selecting eyeglasses and lenses based on prescriptions, lifestyle needs, and preferences
Accurately measure, fit, and adjust eyewear to ensure comfort and proper vision correction
Interpret prescriptions from optometrists and ensure correct lens specifications
Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and proper eyewear care
Manage inventory of frames, lenses, and optical supplies
Maintain accurate patient records and support clinic documentation processes
Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless patient care and follow-up
Provide a welcoming, respectful, and culturally aware environment for all patients

Qualifications

Licensed Optician (or eligible for licensure) in Alberta
Experience in an optical or healthcare setting preferred
Strong knowledge of optical products, lens types, and fittings
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative care team
Experience working with Indigenous or underserved communities is an asset
Commitment to culturally competent and patient-centered care
