This role focuses exclusively on the diagnosis, repair, testing, and calibration of thermal scopes, scanners, and night vision devices.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in precision work, follows procedures carefully, and understands the responsibility involved in handling high-value customer equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair thermal optics and night vision devices, including:
Sensor modules
Main boards and control electronics
Power systems
Display units
Connectors, wiring, and harnesses
Perform functional testing, calibration, and quality verification prior to return shipment
Document repair findings, parts usage, and status updates within the RMA/service tracking system
Follow strict chain-of-custody procedures to ensure all customer equipment is properly logged, tracked, and returned
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe electronics repair workbench
Collaborate with engineering and technical support teams when technical escalation is required
Support department goals related to repair turnaround time and customer satisfaction
Answer technical support calls
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience in electronics or electro-mechanical repair
Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills
Ability to work with delicate electronic and optical components
Proficiency with electronic test equipment (e.g., digital multimeters; oscilloscope experience a plus)
Ability to read wiring diagrams and basic schematics
Fine soldering skills, including small-gauge wire and SMT components
Ability to follow written procedures and quality standards consistently
High level of integrity, reliability, and professionalism
Preferred Qualifications
Experience servicing thermal imaging, night vision, or imaging devices
Prior experience in an electronics repair center or service department
Familiarity with calibration procedures, optical alignment, or sensor-based systems
Experience working with serialized components and service documentation systems

Physical Requirements
Must be capable of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to apply manual force and torque during mechanical disassembly and reassembly of equipment.
Ability to perform fine motor tasks, including handling small components, connectors, and tools.
Ability to sit or stand at a workbench for extended periods while performing repair and testing tasks.
Ability to maintain visual focus on small components and displays for prolonged periods.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments safely and effectively.
Ability to work in a laboratory or workshop environment and comply with all safety requirements.
