Financial Systems Specialist

A quantitative trading firm is looking for a Financial Systems Specialist to own and evolve a critical enterprise platform that supports key business operations across the organization. This role goes beyond day-to-day support and focuses on platform ownership, strategic planning, stakeholder partnership, and long-term technology direction. The ideal candidate will serve as the subject matter expert for the platform, helping drive its roadmap, scalability, adoption, and overall business impact while working closely with teams across finance, operations, and technology.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary owner of a critical enterprise platform, responsible for its ongoing performance, reliability, and evolution.
• Define and guide platform strategy, architecture, and long-term roadmap in partnership with business and technology stakeholders.
• Lead platform enhancement initiatives, including process optimization, workflow improvements, automation, and system integrations.
• Partner directly with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Evaluate new capabilities, technologies, and best practices to ensure the platform continues to meet the firm's evolving needs.
• Drive implementation projects, upgrades, and enhancements from requirements gathering through deployment and adoption.
• Collaborate with engineering, finance, and operations teams to ensure alignment between platform capabilities and business objectives.
• Establish governance, documentation, and operational best practices to support platform growth and long-term sustainability.
• Provide expert-level support and issue resolution when required, while maintaining a focus on strategic improvements rather than purely operational support.

Qualifications

• Experience owning, administering, or leading the development of enterprise business applications or financial systems.
• Strong understanding of platform architecture, system design, integrations, and technology strategy.
• Demonstrated success leading system implementations, upgrades, transformations, or large-scale enhancement initiatives.
• Ability to partner effectively with senior stakeholders and influence platform direction across multiple business functions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project leadership skills.
• Experience working with ERP systems, procurement platforms, workflow tools, financial applications, or other enterprise technologies is preferred.
• Comfortable balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution in a fast-paced environment.
• Consulting experience or experience operating within complex, cross-functional organizations is a plus.
