Job Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on Opto-Mechanical Assembly / Integration Technician to support the assembly, integration, precision alignment, and validation of advanced electromechanical and optical systems.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with optical bench assembly, optical/laser alignment, and precision opto-mechanical integration, along with the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and optical systems.
This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work with precision assemblies using both mechanical tools and software-guided alignment processes.

Required Skills
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience assembling, integrating, and aligning optical, opto-mechanical, or electromechanical systems.
  • Proven experience performing precision bench assembly and optical/mechanical alignment of complex assemblies using precision hand tools and alignment procedures.
  • Experience with optical assemblies, laser alignment, photonics, imaging systems, or precision instrumentation.
  • Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and technical documentation.
  • Hands-on experience using precision hand tools, torque tools, measuring instruments, and alignment fixtures.
  • Ability to assemble, adjust, and troubleshoot complex mechanical assemblies.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Comfortable working with computer-based software applications to support system setup, calibration, or alignment.
  • Ability to work independently while following detailed procedures and maintaining high quality standards.

Preferred Skills
  • Background in semiconductor equipment, scientific instruments, medical devices, aerospace, robotics, automation, or other high-precision manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with system integration, engineering builds, prototype assembly, or new product introduction (NPI).
  • Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering degree, Associate's degree, or equivalent technical training. Relevant hands-on experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom manufacturing environments.
  • Personal hands-on technical experience such as building computers, working on mechanical projects, robotics, or similar technical hobbies is considered a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble, integrate, and align precision mechanical and electromechanical assemblies.
  • Perform precision bench alignment of complex assemblies using mechanical tools and software-guided alignment processes.
  • Support system integration, calibration, verification, and functional testing activities.
  • Perform mechanical adjustments, alignment verification, and troubleshooting to ensure systems meet performance specifications.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and assembly procedures to complete high-quality builds.
  • Document assembly activities and maintain accurate production and quality records.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve technical issues and improve assembly processes.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or technical certification is preferred.
