Join AZAD as an Opto/Mechanical Technician Level 2 who will be responsible for the advanced assembly of optical systems for lasers, laser radars and electro-optical sensors and instruments.
This is a full-time consultant position based in Irvine, CA with a high probability of long term and ongoing continued employment. The hourly pay rate for this position is up to $30 doe plus 20% differential depending on related qualifications and experience, as well as composition of selected compensation package.
Schedule:
the hours will be from 10pm - 6:30am. will need to train on first shift for a month (6am-230pm)
Essential Functions:
Responsible for the advanced assembly of optical systems for lasers, and electro-optical sensors and instruments
Follow written procedures or drawings developed by engineers and suggest improvements to optimize production
Assemble and debug systems incorporating optical, mechanical, and electronic components
Test each level of assembly (4-5 processes) at the system level using laboratory instruments (i.e. interferometer, Zygo, etc.)
Audit 1-2 work order kits from warehouse to confirm pieces and part numbers
Prepare subassembly components
Alignment, optimization, stability, transmission, etc.
Package the final assembly daily (if assembly is completed)
Cross training is required (trainee and/or trainer)
The ideal candidate must possess the minimum qualifications:
2-4 years of related experience
AA Degree, Technical Certification or equivalent is a plus
The ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints
The ability use measurement instruments (interferometer, Zygo) preferred
Experience entering data numbers into Microsoft Excel spreadsheets templates
The ability to speak, read, and write in English
