TEMPORARY OPTOMETRIC TECHNICIAN

Location: North Tulsa, OK
Pay: $17–$21/hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Full-Time
Position Type: Temporary but with potential to go full time

Trinity Employment Specialists is currently recruiting for an experienced and dependable Optometric Technician to join a busy medical clinic in the North Tulsa area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with patients and supporting an optometrist in providing quality eye care.

Responsibilities

• Assist optometrist with patient examinations and routine clinical procedures
• Obtain and document patient medical and ocular histories
• Perform preliminary vision testing and other diagnostic testing as directed
• Measure visual acuity and perform refraction-related testing
• Conduct tonometry and other basic ophthalmic testing
• Perform visual field testing and retinal imaging as needed
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
• Assist with contact lens-related services and patient education
• Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record
• Maintain clean, organized examination and equipment areas
• Clean and prepare ophthalmic equipment according to clinic standards
• Provide professional, compassionate patient service
• Follow HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control, and clinic policies
• Perform other clinical and administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Optometric Technician, Ophthalmic Technician, Medical Assistant, or similar clinical role preferred
• Experience in an optometry or ophthalmology setting strongly preferred
• Strong patient service and communication skills
• Comfortable working with computers and electronic medical records
• Ability to accurately perform clinical testing and document results
• Professional appearance and dependable attendance
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Must be willing to complete an Interferon-Gamma Release Assay (IGRA) TB blood test as a condition of employment

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be friendly, professional, detail-oriented, and comfortable interacting with patients of all ages. Previous hands-on experience with ophthalmic or optometric testing is highly valued. Candidates who can step into the role with minimal training are encouraged to apply.
