1 – Optometrist – Blackfeet Service Unit - (3m+) – start as soon as credentialed (est. 60 days) – full-time
Must have Real ID

Northern Cheyenne Service Unit Optometry Clinic details:
The Optometry Clinic currently operates two exam lanes and maintains an average daily patient volume of approximately 12–14 patients, with appointment lengths ranging from 20 to 30 minutes depending on visit type.
Services provided include:
Routine comprehensive eye examinations, Acute evaluations for eye irritation and foreign bodies, Glaucoma screening and treatment
Diabetic retinopathy screening utilizing a JVN imaging system
Referrals to specialty ophthalmology services
No surgical services are performed onsite.
The clinic is presently supported by one Medical Support Assistant (MSA), who is responsible for:
Operating the JVN machine for diabetic retinopathy screening, Managing eyeglass ordering and repairs, Providing general clinic support and coordination
There is currently one Optometry Technician position vacant, pending completion of the HR hiring process.
Conduct Eye Exams: Perform comprehensive eye examinations to assess vision and detect eye diseases.
Diagnose and Treat Conditions: Identify and manage ocular diseases and disorders, such as glaucoma and cataracts.
Prescribe Corrective Lenses: Provide prescriptions for eyeglasses and contact lenses based on individual patient needs.
Patient Education: Educate patients about eye health, vision correction options, and preventive care.
Pre- and Post-Operative Care: Offer care for patients undergoing eye surgeries, including follow-up assessments.
Maintain Patient Records: Document patient interactions, treatment plans, and outcomes accurately.
Education: Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited optometry school.
Licensure: Valid state license to practice optometry.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills to accurately diagnose and treat vision problems.
Customer Service: Ability to provide compassionate care and build rapport with patients of all ages.
