Role Description This full-time, on-site Optometrist role is based in Charlotte, NC and focuses on delivering comprehensive eye care to a diverse patient population. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing routine and medical eye examinations, diagnosing and managing ocular conditions, prescribing glasses and contact lenses, and providing patient education on vision health and treatment options. The Optometrist will collaborate with other eye care professionals and support staff to coordinate care, ensure accurate documentation, and uphold clinical and regulatory standards. The role also involves maintaining up-to-date knowledge of optometric best practices, participating in practice initiatives to enhance patient experience, and contributing to a positive, inclusive clinical environment.

Qualifications

Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution and current, unrestricted license to practice optometry in North Carolina (or eligibility to obtain).
\n
Demonstrated clinical skills in comprehensive eye examinations, contact lens fitting, and diagnosis and management of common ocular diseases.
\n
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain clinical findings clearly and build rapport with patients of diverse backgrounds.
\n
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary eye care team and contribute to an organized, efficient clinical workflow.
\n
Attention to detail in charting, documentation, and adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, and privacy regulations.
\n
Commitment to continuous learning, staying current with advances in optometry, diagnostic technology, and evidence-based treatment.
\n
Comfort using electronic health records and basic office technologies to support patient care and practice operations.
\n
Prior experience in a medical or optometric practice setting is preferred but not required; residency training or advanced certification is a plus.
