What You’ll Do:

• Provide comprehensive pediatric eye exams, including binocular vision and strabismus assessments
• Conduct contact lens fittings, focusing on complex pediatric cases when needed
• Support a diverse patient population, including children with developmental delays and on the spectrum
• Collaborate with medical staff, including ophthalmologists and technicians, utilizing advanced diagnostic imaging
• Manage patient workups and treatment plans, respecting cognitive and developmental abilities
• Utilize EMR system (Epic) for documentation and patient management
• Assist in high acuity cases, including patients with seizures and facial abnormalities

What You Need:

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree with pediatric experience
• Valid CA licensure and BLS certification
• At least 3 years of experience working with pediatric patients in a medical center setting or residency in pediatric optometry
• Strong skills in complex contact lens fitting and binocular exams
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

About the Assignment:
This outpatient pediatric optometry position involves working in a facility with all necessary imaging devices, focusing solely on pediatric patients, many of whom have developmental or neurological conditions. You will handle a full schedule with 12-14 patients per day, delivering quality care in a supportive environment where your expertise makes a real difference.
