This is an opportunity to provide comprehensive eye care while working alongside an integrated care team committed to improving the health and well-being of underserved communities.

Salary: $154,500-$185,450 (based on Full Time)

Schedule: Part Time, between Monday-Friday

*Higher compensation may be available for direct, relatable experience*

Duties:

  • Provide comprehensive eye exams, diagnose visual and ocular conditions, and develop individualized treatment plans using corrective lenses, vision therapy, and pharmacological treatment approaches.
  • Deliver high-quality diabetic eye care and preventative services, emphasizing early detection and management of diabetic retinopathy through available technology and resources.
  • Collaborate closely with primary care providers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated patient care and appropriate specialty referrals.
  • Support the day-to-day operations of the Optometry Department, including inventory oversight, equipment maintenance, quality assurance of prescription lenses, and continuous service improvement.
  • Educate patients and staff on eye health, preventative care, and treatment options while promoting Chapa-De’s mission, values, and commitment to culturally responsive care.

Required Experience:

Qualifications:

  • Licensed to practice optometry in the state of California with an Optometric Doctorate (O.D.) Degree
  • 1+ years optometrist experience
  • Current CPR certificate.
  • Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact and communicate effectively with patients and staff.
