Optometrists at CSC get the opportunity to work for a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and qualify for federal and state programs for student loan repayment.

Workplace

  • Work in a FQHC multi-disciplinary community clinic with primary care optometry service.
  • State-of-the-art equipment and facility (digital refractor, Maestro-2 OCT and retinal camera, HVF, virtual field VF, etc.)
  • In-house part-time ophthalmologists for co-management and referral triage
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday. Last appointments at 4:00pm.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Provide outpatient care for patients with eye-related disorders and conditions.
  • Conduct routine eye examinations and prescribe corrective lenses when required.
  • Assist with contact lens fittings.
  • Diagnose and assist with the management of ocular diseases.
  • Educate patients about proper eye hygiene and care.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • State-issued license for optometry and O.D. and 3+ years' experience working as an optometrist.
  • Excellent customer service and organization skills.
  • Advanced time management skills.

Established in 1971, Chinatown Service Center is one of the largest community-based Chinese-American health and human service organization in Southern California. CSC provides a comprehensive range of services to over 100,000 visits annually, organized under four services areas including Social Services (Senior Services, Welfare and Benefits Enrollments and Referral Programs), Federally Qualified Community Health Center (Behavioral Health, Medical, Dental and Optometry), Youth Center and Community Economic Development (Individual Financial Education and Small Business Training and Consultation).
