Prairie Band Health Service is seeking an Optometrist to provide exceptional healthcare services at Zuni Comprehensive Community Health Center (ZCCHC) Optometry Clinic at 21B Avenue Zuni, New Mexico 87327

Details:

• Monday through Friday
• Great Staff and Location
• Local or Locums welcomed to apply 

Hours of Operation: normal clinic hours and shifts, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday except Federal holidays

Duties:

• Perform comprehensive medical eye examinations in an outpatient setting

• Diagnose and manage optometric and ocular medical conditions

• Conduct mandated screenings, including diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma evaluations

• Provide emergency eye care services within scope of licensure and privileges

• Prescribe corrective lenses, contact lenses, visual aids, and therapeutic pharmaceutical agents

• Order laboratory, diagnostic, and radiologic studies as clinically indicated

Requirements:

  

• A Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited institution

• A current, valid, unrestricted license to practice optometry in a U.S. State or territory

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

• Required immunizations and tuberculosis screening documentation

Prairie Band, LLC is subject to Title 22: Employment Code of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation. In accordance with Title 22, this position is designated as a TIER 2 position. Preference will be given to individuals to the extent required pursuant to Section 22-2-4(B).
