Optometry Technician

Job Summary

The Optometry Technician assists the Optometrist with routine eye examinations, diagnostics, treatment of vision problems, patient relations, and general administrative duties.

Essential Functions

• Conduct basic routine testing and vision examinations.

• Prepare patients for testing and clinical procedures.

• Assist patients with eye care education, utilization of corrective eyewear, frame selection, and fitting.

• Adjust and repair eyeglass frames and lenses.

• Maintain vision and diagnostic equipment.

• Manage clinical inventory and medical supplies.

• Assist with scheduling patient visits, preparing insurance claims forms, and maintaining patient records in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.

• Perform general clerical and administrative duties, along with other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Certifications: CPR / BLS Certification required.
• Previous experience working in Optometry Clinic.

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently.

• Excellent interpersonal skills to encourage, instruct, and motivate a team.

• Ability to interact effectively and respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

• High level of professional discretion, responsibility, and strict adherence to confidentiality.
