OR / Circulating RN – Fridays - Multi-Specialty Surgery

Hours: 1 × 8-hour shift/week
Contract: September 4–October 9, 2026 | 5 weeks

CareerNation is seeking an experienced OR / Circulating RN to provide Friday coverage for a busy multi-specialty surgery center in Round Rock, TX.

This is a short-term, low-commitment contract offering one consistent Friday day shift per week, making it ideal for an experienced OR RN looking to add supplemental hours around an existing schedule.

The facility is specifically seeking a multi-specialty OR nurse who can assist across several surgical service lines.

Surgical Specialties

Cases may include:

• Orthopedics – Sports Medicine
• Orthopedics – Joints
• General Orthopedics
• Orthopedic Arthroscopy
• OB/GYN
• Ophthalmology

Candidates with broad OR experience are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience with every listed specialty is not necessarily required; we’ll discuss your specific surgical background during the interview.

Responsibilities

• Independently circulate assigned surgical cases
• Prepare the operating room and verify necessary equipment and supplies
• Complete patient identification, surgical-site, and safety verification
• Assist with patient positioning and surgical preparation
• Coordinate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, scrub personnel, and other members of the surgical team
• Maintain sterile-field awareness and enforce OR safety standards
• Participate in surgical counts and procedural time-outs
• Complete accurate intraoperative documentation
• Advocate for patient safety throughout the surgical procedure
• Assist with efficient room turnover and case flow

Requirements

• Active Texas RN license
• Current BLS
• Minimum 1 year of OR / Circulating RN experience
• Recent circulating experience
• Experience in multiple surgical specialties strongly preferred
• Orthopedic OR experience particularly desirable
• Ability to independently circulate cases
• Must be available Fridays
