    Position Summary

    The OR Control Desk Specialist is responsible for the flow of information in and out of the Control Desk area, to include communication by phone and intercom intra and inter departmentally, message handling, use of the ORSOS computer system for data retrieval and scheduling, maintaining statistics, and patient check in. This is an intermediate clerical position working as a team member in the management of surgical cases. Work situations are varied and can be highly stressful requiring and service-oriented individual with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask. Internal contacts include patient care staff and management throughout MHS. External contacts include physicians, physician’s office staff, patients, patient families, and outside organizations.

    Requirements

    • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
    • Minimum two (2) years secretarial experience in a hospital environment, OR preferred

    Pay and Benefit Expectations

    We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $25.11 - $38.21 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
