RNs must be skilled in circulating and assisting during a wide range of surgical procedures, demonstrating a thorough understanding of surgical instruments, sterile techniques, and operating room protocols across multiple specialties.
RNs must be adaptable, able to anticipate surgical team needs, and capable of providing support in both complex and routine procedures, ensuring patient safety and efficient workflow in the operating room.
Assess patients' health conditions and develop individualized care plans.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
Monitor patient progress and document assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care.
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and medical emergencies.
Perform wound care, IV therapy, and other clinical procedures within scope of practice.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, infection control standards, and facility policies.
Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR).
Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while promoting safety and quality outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications
Current, valid, and unrestricted CA license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.
Minimum of one (1) year of recent experience in an operating room setting and who have successfully completed training in the perioperative environment.
Should have comprehensive experience in Orthopedics, Robotics, Ophthalmology, Colorectal, ENT, Plastic Surgery, Gynecology, Urology, Vascular, Podiatry, Thoracic, and General Surgery.
Registered Nurse license,
AHA BLS/ACLS/PALS, NIHSS Certification,
MAB or CPI, LA City Fire and Life Safety card (must be LA City),
Completion of the LA County Employee Health Clearance prior to the assignment start date.
Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., .BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements).
