Job Title: Oracle BI Developer

Location: Remote must be available to work PST hours

Overview:

The Oracle BI Developer will design, automate, and support data extraction, transformation, and loading applications across data warehouse and data lake environments. This role will support data ingestion, ETL development, data modeling, validation, and cloud-based data integration. The position requires strong Oracle database knowledge, DBT development experience, and the ability to build scalable data solutions that support enterprise reporting and analytics needs
Qualifications & Responsibilities
  1. Design, automate, and support sophisticated data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) applications.
  2. Demonstrate strong knowledge of Oracle databases for batch application development within data warehouse and data lake environments.
  3. Perform data ingestion from heterogeneous data sources into both on-premises and cloud-based data storage platforms, including but not limited to Snowflake and AWS.
  4. Manage ETL processes using DBT, ODI, Oracle PL/SQL, Oracle SQL, and Shell Scripting.
  5. Develop dimensional hierarchies and design data models that support multiple Enterprise Data Management reports. Work closely with business stakeholders, vendors, and internal teams to facilitate communication and achieve project objectives.
  6. Create and improve data solutions that enable efficient data delivery and support the gathering, processing, maintenance, and analysis of large-scale datasets.
  7. Perform and support data quality validation processes.
  8. Possess knowledge and experience with API development frameworks.
  9. Demonstrate knowledge and experience with cloud-native data integration technologies.
  10. Have experience migrating data lakes from on-premises systems to cloud platforms.
  11. Previous experience working on LAUSD Data Lake systems is required.
  12. Minimum of three years of experience building incremental models, handling raw data layers, and developing DBT models for LAUSD vendors and applications.
  13. Demonstrate proficiency in DBT (Data Build Tool) development, including experience with macros, hooks, and incremental models, as well as experience converting complex Oracle stored procedures into modular DBT models.
  14. Ability to write DBT tests for data quality validation and manage security for DBT models.
  15. Expert-level knowledge of Git workflows, including implementing branching strategies and establishing CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment processes.
  16. 10+ years of experience in the field

Additional Details
The base range for this contract position is $72 – $88 / per hour, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered.
