Oracle Database Administrator (Dba)

Enterprise Horizon Consulting Group is seeking a Mid-Level Oracle Database Administrator (DBA II) to provide hands-on administration and operational support for enterprise Oracle database environments. This role is 100% remote, working hours are based on Eastern Time. The DBA will work with senior database administrators and technical teams to maintain database availability, performance, security, backup/recovery, and operational reliability. This role is contingent upon contract award.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and support Oracle databases in production enterprise environments.
• Provision, configure, and maintain Oracle database environments.
• Execute database backup, recovery, and restoration activities.
• Support Oracle RMAN backup and recovery operations.
• Support Oracle Grid and HA/DR environments.
• Plan and execute database maintenance and patching activities.
• Monitor database availability, capacity, performance, and system health.
• Troubleshoot database incidents and identify root causes.
• Perform database and SQL performance tuning using system metrics.
• Implement and test database failover and disaster recovery procedures.
• Develop scripts and automation to improve routine DBA activities.
• Support database security, encryption, auditing, and access controls.
• Respond to ServiceNow incidents, requests, and Requests for Change (RFCs).
• Support SQL/Oracle database development and application integration activities.
• Work collaboratively with senior DBAs, infrastructure teams, application teams, and customer personnel.
• Maintain technical documentation and contribute to weekly activity reports.
• Participate in planned after-hours database maintenance activities as required.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of database administration experience.
• Hands-on Oracle database administration experience.
• Experience in several of the following:
• • Oracle Database
  • Oracle RMAN
  • Oracle Grid
  • PL/SQL
  • Backup and recovery
  • Database patching
  • Performance tuning
  • Monitoring and alerting
  • HA/DR
  • Database security
  • Scripting/automation
• Demonstrated troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively on technical teams.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Oracle professional certification.
• Federal government IT experience.
• OCI/cloud database experience.
• ServiceNow experience.
• SolarWinds and/or Idera experience.
• Exposure to SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and MS Access.
