Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Security Analyst to join our dedicated database security team in Jersey City, NJ. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a hybrid environment involving Access Control and Database Administration (DBA) responsibilities, ensuring the protection and compliance of production database systems.

The selected candidate will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining database security controls, managing user access, and supporting the enforcement of enterprise-wide data protection policies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor database user access controls for production Oracle environments.
  • Ensure compliance with internal security policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • Perform regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and risk analysis on databases.
  • Collaborate with DBA, Infrastructure, and Security teams to maintain a secure database environment.
  • Support incident response and remediation efforts related to database security breaches.
  • Implement and manage data encryption, masking, and authentication mechanisms.
  • Review and approve database role grants, privileges, and service accounts.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, runbooks, and security control procedures.
  • Monitor and report on database activity, identifying suspicious or unauthorized access attempts.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience as a Database Security Analyst or Oracle DBA with a focus on security.
  • Strong expertise in Oracle Database Security concepts, including user roles, privileges, and auditing.
  • Hands-on experience with Access Control, RBAC (Role-Based Access Control), and data protection tools.
  • Working knowledge of database compliance standards such as SOX, PCI-DSS, or HIPAA.
  • Experience using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) or similar database management tools.
  • Proficiency with SQL, PL/SQL, and shell scripting for automation and reporting.
  • Understanding of network security, firewall rules, and identity management systems (e.g., LDAP, Active Directory).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Database Security certification.
  • Experience with cloud database security (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Oracle Cloud).
  • Exposure to SIEM tools and security monitoring frameworks.
  • Familiarity with data loss prevention (DLP) and privileged access management (PAM) systems.
