Senior Oracle DBA (Oracle 19c/23ai, Grid Infrastructure, GoldenGate & Active Data Guard)

The Senior Oracle DBA will be responsible for ensuring the stability, scalability, security, and performance of enterprise Oracle database environments supporting multiple concurrent ERP implementations and upgrade initiatives. The primary focus of this role is upgrading Oracle databases from Oracle 19c to Oracle 23ai, maintaining highly available database environments, supporting ETL operations, and ensuring compliance with security and operational standards.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Oracle infrastructure administration, Grid Infrastructure, ASM, Clusterware, Active Data Guard, GoldenGate, performance tuning, disaster recovery, security compliance, and Oracle PeopleSoft environments. This role may require working outside standard business hours based on project schedules and production support requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer, maintain, and support Oracle database environments running Oracle 19c and Oracle 23ai.

  • Design and execute Oracle database upgrades from Oracle 19c to Oracle 23ai.

  • Configure and maintain Oracle Grid Infrastructure environments.

  • Administer ASM and Oracle Clusterware environments.

  • Support and maintain high-availability solutions including GoldenGate and Active Data Guard.

  • Perform database performance monitoring, tuning, and optimization.

  • Develop and maintain advanced Linux and SQL scripts for automation and administration.

  • Create, manage, and maintain multiple database environments supporting ERP and ETL activities.

  • Monitor database health, storage utilization, and resource performance.

  • Implement database security controls and vulnerability remediation activities.

  • Coordinate with hosting vendors and infrastructure teams.

  • Support Oracle PeopleSoft environments and related database requirements.

  • Perform backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity activities.

  • Design and implement logical and physical database models.

  • Manage database migrations, patches, upgrades, and maintenance activities.

  • Create and maintain database standards, procedures, and technical documentation.

  • Support accessibility and EIR compliance requirements related to database systems.

  • Provide technical guidance to developers, analysts, and application teams.

  • Participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis activities.

  • Support audit and compliance initiatives.

  • Advanced Linux scripting and SQL development experience.

  • Minimum 4 years of experience supporting Federal, State, or Local Government organizations.

  • Experience working with hosting vendors.

  • Experience supporting Oracle PeopleSoft environments.

  • Strong database performance tuning and optimization skills.

  • Experience implementing database security controls and vulnerability remediation.

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting large-scale ERP implementations and upgrades.

  • Experience supporting multiple concurrent database environments.

  • Experience with Oracle RAC environments.

  • Experience with Oracle security compliance initiatives.

  • Experience with enterprise ETL environments.

  • Experience supporting public sector organizations.

  • Experience with cloud-hosted Oracle environments.

  • Experience supporting disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives.

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Equivalent professional experience may be substituted where applicable.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)

  • Oracle Certified Master (OCM)

  • Oracle Cloud Certifications

  • Linux Administration Certifications

Additional Requirements:

  • Must reside within the Austin, Texas area or within approximately one hour driving distance.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

  • Must successfully complete pre-employment security review requirements.

  • May require work outside standard business hours based on project schedules and production activities.
