SMX Services & Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Senior Oracle Middleware Subject Matter Expert / Oracle Database Administrator to support a U.S. Federal Government enterprise Oracle environment in Washington, DC.
The successful candidate will provide hands-on technical support for Oracle infrastructure, databases, middleware, automation, system lifecycle management, vulnerability remediation, cloud migration activities, and operational continuity.
This position requires strong experience supporting enterprise Oracle environments and the ability to work directly with Government technical personnel in a secure federal environment.
Administer, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize enterprise Oracle database environments.
Support Oracle RAC and Oracle Fusion Middleware environments.
Perform database and middleware installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management.
Monitor database, middleware, and infrastructure performance, availability, and capacity.
Identify and remediate technical and security vulnerabilities.
Support Oracle infrastructure modernization and hardware/software lifecycle refresh activities.
Assist with migration of Oracle workloads from on-premises infrastructure to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
Support cloud migration planning, implementation, validation, and operational transition.
Support Oracle Business Intelligence, analytics, and data warehouse environments.
Develop and maintain technical automation using tools and languages including:
SQL
WLST
Bash
Python
Perl
PHP
Develop scripts and automation to improve system administration, monitoring, patching, and operational efficiency.
Support backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity activities.
Produce accurate technical documentation, operating procedures, system reports, and knowledge-transfer materials.
Conduct hands-on knowledge transfer and demonstrations for Government and contractor personnel.
Coordinate with Government technical teams to maintain continuity of operations.
Support new Oracle environments that may be established during contract performance.
Maintain compliance with Government cybersecurity, access-control, and operational requirements.
5 10 years of relevant experience supporting Oracle middleware, Oracle databases, or comparable enterprise Oracle environments.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
Current Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Master (OCM) certification.
Demonstrated hands-on experience administering enterprise Oracle database environments.
Experience supporting Oracle RAC.
Experience supporting Oracle Fusion Middleware.
Experience with automation and scripting using SQL, WLST, Bash, Python, Perl, and/or PHP.
Experience supporting enterprise production and non-production environments.
Experience performing system upgrades, software upgrades, patching, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
Strong technical documentation and communication skills.
Ability to work full-time on-site in Washington, DC.
Candidates should have experience operating in enterprise environments requiring disciplined change management, security controls, documentation, vulnerability remediation, and operational continuity.
Experience supporting Oracle systems within a federal government environment is strongly preferred.
The selected candidate must be able to complete the Government's Tier 4 High-Risk Public Trust background investigation process, including completion of the SF-85P, fingerprinting, and other required personnel-security documentation.
Final access and authorization are subject to Government security requirements and approval.

The Government has specified approximately 1,920 hours of full-time support annually. Remote work and telework are not authorized for this requirement.
$67.00 $71.00 per hour, depending on qualifications, Oracle certifications, directly relevant experience, and demonstrated technical capability.
The anticipated annualized compensation range based on 1,920 hours is approximately $128,640 $136,320.
