The role

As a Formulation Technician (Levels I–III), you’ll support R&D Formulations from bench-scale experiments to commercial-scale batches. This is a developmental position with structured training—ideal for someone motivated by the life sciences and hands-on drug product manufacturing. You will learn and apply techniques including dispensing, blending, wet and dry granulation, tablet compression, and film coating.

What you will do

  • Execute product development and process optimization work, demonstrating process and formulation robustness from small scale through commercial runs.
  • Coordinate and carry out cleaning, process validation, and CMS technical/process operations in collaboration with Quality, Operations, R&D, and Regulatory Affairs for both commercial and R&D products.
  • Ensure sampling and testing activities are performed as planned and documented.
  • Contribute to technical reports and creation of master formulary records.
  • Follow protocols and batch records for development batches; communicate observations to CMS Manufacturing Associates and the R&D Formulations group.
  • Take on additional tasks as assigned.

What you bring

  • Placement (I/II/III) based on education and relevant industry experience; minimum of a high school diploma with 5+ years in a pharmaceutical setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Cross-training across unit operations: granulation, blending, compression, coating, and encapsulation.
  • Hands-on familiarity with equipment such as granulators, tablet presses, coaters, and encapsulators.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Solid working knowledge of cGMP.
  • Awareness of analytical laboratory testing practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other relevant applications.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally and work weekend shifts as needed.
