Oral Surgery Assistant (Short-Term / PRN)

Chatham Oral Surgery is seeking a skilled and dependable Oral Surgery Assistant for a short-term assignment or PRN basis to support our team during the period of July 2026 through January 2027.
We are looking for someone who is confident in a fast-paced surgical environment, committed to excellent patient care, and able to step in with flexibility and professionalism.
Position Type- Short-term assignment: 4–6 months
- Or PRN / as-needed coverage
- Expected need: July 2026 – January 2027
Key Responsibilities- Assist the doctor chairside during oral surgery procedures
- Prepare and break down treatment rooms
- Support patient flow before, during, and after surgery
- Review health history and help ensure patients are prepared for treatment
- Take and record vital signs as needed
- Provide clear post-op instructions and patient support
- Maintain sterilization and infection control protocols
- Stock operatories and assist with clinical organization
- Support the team with professionalism, urgency, and flexibility
Ideal Candidate- Experience in oral surgery strongly preferred
- Dental assisting experience required
- Comfortable in a surgical setting
- Strong attention to detail and ability to anticipate doctor needs
- Calm, reassuring presence with patients
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude
- Reliable and adaptable for short-term or PRN coverage
Preferred Qualifications- Oral surgery assisting experience
- Experience with WinOMS EMR system preferred
- X-ray certification, if required
- CPR certification
- Sedation or surgical assisting experience is a plus
