Order Desk Customer Service Representative (CSR)
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Position Summary
The Order Desk Customer Service Representative (CSR) serves as a primary point of contact for customers, ensuring an exceptional customer experience through accurate order processing, product knowledge, sales support, and post-sale service. This position is responsible for managing customer orders, coordinating with internal teams, resolving inquiries, and supporting daily branch operations in a fast-paced showroom and warehouse environment.
The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience handling order entry, inventory support, and customer-facing responsibilities. Previous experience in the construction, building materials, or related industries is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Process customer orders accurately and efficiently through computerized business systems.
- Provide professional customer service via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
- Assist customers with product information, availability, pricing, and order status.
- Coordinate with showroom, warehouse, and sales teams to ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Resolve customer concerns, discrepancies, and service issues effectively and professionally.
- Maintain current knowledge of products, services, and competitor offerings.
- Support sales activities and branch operations as needed.
- Balance daily order desk responsibilities while assisting with special projects and company initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records related to orders, inventory, and customer transactions.
- Operate a forklift when certified and required for business operations.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency with computer-based order entry systems and business software.
- Ability to analyze problems and develop effective solutions.
- Knowledge of sales support, inventory management, and order processing procedures.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Basic mathematical skills, including calculations and measurements.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in a professional environment.
- Construction industry experience is a strong plus.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching, bending, and computer use.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work in both office/showroom and warehouse environments.
- Occasional exposure to forklifts, outdoor conditions, and construction-related products and materials.
Work Environment
