Order Specialist – Purchasing / Supply Chain (Direct Hire)

A stable manufacturing organization is seeking an Order Specialist to join its Purchasing / Supply Chain team. This is a direct-hire, on-site role responsible for managing customer orders from entry through fulfillment while supporting internal teams across sales, production, shipping, and accounting.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being the hub between customers, systems, and operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end processing of customer orders, including order entry, documentation, and record maintenance
  • Review customer purchase orders for pricing, terms, and accuracy
  • Enter and maintain order data within ERP and CRM systems
  • Monitor open orders and proactively address late or at-risk orders
  • Coordinate with Sales, Production, Supply Chain, Shipping, and Accounting
  • Process order changes, cancellations, blanket releases, returns, and credits
  • Serve as a primary contact for order status, tracking, and delivery inquiries
  • Support inventory planning and assist with administrative and documentation needs
Qualifications
  • Experience working in order management, customer service, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Comfortable working with ERP/CRM systems (manufacturing ERP preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally
Education & Experience
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of customer service or order processing experience, preferably in manufacturing
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Work Environment
  • On-site role in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
  • Regular interaction with internal and external customers
  • PPE required when in manufacturing areas (safety glasses, steel-toe shoes)
  • May involve standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs as needed
Compensation & Employment
  • Direct hire
  • $60,000 annual salary
