Job Description

Overview:

The Orientation Specialist is responsible for coordinating, delivering, and continuously improving the onboarding and orientation experience for newly hired administrative team members, EMTs, Paramedics and other licensed or support staff.  This role ensures all employees are equipped with the knowledge, tools, policies, procedures and culture to successfully integrate into the organization and deliver high-quality patient care and operational support. 

 

This role serves as a critical bridge between recruitment, training, operations, and human resources, ensuring smooth, compliant and engaging onboarding.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Coordinate and facilitate new hire orientation for clinical and administrative staff
  • Conduct engaging, structured orientation sessions covering: 
    • Company mission, values, culture and expectations
    • Policies, procedures and compliance requirements 
    • EMS operational standards and protocols 
    • Safety, HIPAA, and other regulatory requirements
  • Assess knowledge, skills and abilities of new employees
  • Provide a positive environment for our new hires 
  • Determine need for remediation or termination of employment based on knowledge, skills and abilities to perform essential job functions
  • Educators are required to go up in service to keep skills sharp
  • This position serves as a hands-on educator, providing instruction and demonstrated competency in safe lifting and moving techniques, patient handling, and CEVO
  • Educators are required to instruct our monthly annual refresher
  • Educators may be required to work outside the normal assigned schedule
  • Assist in other areas of the Education Department as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

 

Required:        

  • High School Diploma or equivalency
  • EMT / Paramedic License in the state in which they are teaching
  • Computer literate (Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher etc.)

 

Preferred:        

  • AHA Instructor credentials (BLS)
