Commercial HVAC Service Technician

Contract-to-Hire · On-site · Commercial HVAC · $25-$30/hour

We're placing a Commercial HVAC Service Technician with a well-established company in the Orlando area. In this role, you'll handle service, maintenance, and repair of commercial HVAC systems across a variety of client sites. Pay is based on experience - whether you're building your commercial career or you're a seasoned tech, we want to hear from you. Strong performers have a clear path to permanent placement.

What you'll do

  • Diagnose, service, and repair commercial HVAC equipment including RTUs, split systems, chillers, air handlers, and cooling towers
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on commercial systems to maximize uptime and equipment lifespan
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues and complete repairs efficiently with minimal disruption to clients
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and mechanical drawings to guide diagnostics and repairs
  • Handle refrigerant recovery, recharge, and leak testing in compliance with EPA regulations
  • Interact professionally with building managers and facility staff on-site, representing the company well at every visit
  • Complete accurate service reports, maintenance logs, and parts documentation after each job
  • Respond to emergency service calls as needed and work efficiently to restore comfort and operations

Requirements

  • EPA 608 Universal Certification required
  • 2+ years of HVAC experience; commercial background preferred but not required for the right candidate
  • Working knowledge of refrigeration cycles, electrical systems, and HVAC controls
  • Able to use diagnostic tools including multimeters, manifold gauges, and combustion analyzers
  • NATE certification a plus but not required
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required
  • Able to work outdoors in Florida heat, lift up to 50 lbs, and work at heights or in confined spaces
