Overview Family Dental Group is looking for a Orthodontic Assistant in Fishkill, New York to assist our clinical team by providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction while operating in a team-based environment.

Position Overview: As a Orthodontic Assistant you are an integral part of care team in providing support to the office and assisting the professional dental staff with treatment. Support our mission to providing excellent dental care in the community and help us create more smiles and memorable experiences. Candidates must have prior dental assisting experience to be considered.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive hourly pay: $25Min-$27Max

  • Full time: Tuesday 9am-5pm, Wednesday 9am-5pm, Thursday 9am-5pm, Friday 9am-5pm, and Saturday 9am-4pm

  • Tuesdays will be at Brewster Pediatrics in Brewster, New York

  • Wednesdays will be at Family Dental Group in Yorktown Heights, New York

  • Thursday and Friday will be between Brewster & Yorktown Heights (no set schedule yet)

  • One Saturday a month at Family Dental Group in Fishkill, New York

Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Support:
  • Prepare treatment rooms
  • Sterilize instruments
  • Assist dentists during procedures
  • Patient Care:
  • Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
  • Radiography & Diagnostics:
  • Take and develop X-rays
  • Assist with impressions
  • Maintain study models
  • Compliance & Safety:
  • Ensure infection control protocols
  • Maintain patient confidentiality
  • Follow workplace regulations
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed)
  • Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory

Qualifications:

  • 1 year on-the-job-experience
  • Expanded Functions Dental Assistant - Preferred
  • Orthodontic experience - Preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Dental Assistant are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law
