Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced orthodontic environment. You will work closely with the orthodontist and clinical team to provide high-quality care and ensure a positive patient experience from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during clinical procedures and patient treatment
- Take and process orthodontic records, including photos, digital scans, and X-rays
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment areas following infection control protocols
- Place and remove orthodontic appliances as directed (bands, brackets, archwires, etc.)
- Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene, appliance care, and treatment compliance
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in patient records
- Support scheduling flow and patient readiness to ensure efficient clinic operations
- Collaborate with team members across multiple office locations as needed
Qualifications
- Prior experience as an Orthodontic Assistant preferred (or dental assisting experience with orthodontic exposure)
- Radiology certification (or ability to obtain, depending on state requirements)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working in a team-based, multi-location environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
