Position Summary

Join Lahey Clinic, a key member of Beth Israel Lahey Health, as a board-certified or board-eligible Orthopedic Surgeon dual-focused or fellowship-trained in Orthopedic Trauma and Sports Medicine.

This role combines high-complexity acute orthopedic trauma coverage at a Level I Trauma Center with an elective sports medicine clinical and surgical practice. The ideal candidate will bring surgical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to delivering high quality, patient-centered care within an academic medical center environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Surgical & Clinical Care: Provide comprehensive surgical and non-surgical care for acute orthopedic trauma, complex fractures, joint injuries, soft tissue reconstruction, and sports-related injuries.

  • Trauma Call Coverage: Participate in the Level I Orthopedic Trauma call rotation, providing rapid evaluation, resuscitation, and operative management for polytrauma and urgent musculoskeletal conditions.

  • Outpatient Clinic: Maintain a robust outpatient practice for sports medicine and post-trauma follow-up care across designated LHMC ambulatory sites.

  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Partner closely with emergency medicine providers, general trauma surgery, radiology, physical therapy, and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to optimize clinical pathways.

  • Quality & Education: Contribute to clinical quality initiatives, departmental research, and the clinical training of surgical residents, fellows, and advanced practice clinicians.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: MD or DO from an accredited medical school.

  • Training: Completion of an accredited Orthopedic Surgery Residency program. Fellowship training in Orthopedic Trauma, Sports Medicine, or dual fellowship completion is strongly preferred.

  • Board Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS).

  • Licensure: Unrestricted Massachusetts Medical License and Federal/State DEA certification (or eligible prior to start date).

  • Skills: Demonstrated surgical excellence in both complex fracture management and advanced arthroscopic/sports medicine procedures. Strong interpersonal and team communication skills required.

Lahey Clinic, a 337-bed tertiary care facility, outpatient clinic and Level I trauma center with a recently completed state of the art emergency department. We are a physician-led, multi-disciplinary group practice of more than 500 physicians. Pay Range:

$425,000.00 USD - $500,000.00 USD

The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation may be determined based on several factors, that may include education, training, relevant experience, specialty, geography of work location, productivity, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. In addition to base compensation, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include productivity and quality bonuses.
