Orthopedic Hand and Upper Extremity Surgeon

Our organization is on the lookout for a fellowship-trained, board-certified or board-eligible Orthopedic Hand and Upper Extremity Surgeon to join a vibrant team serving both Anne Arundel and Prince George's County in Maryland. This role presents a distinctive chance to deliver comprehensive care for conditions affecting the hand, wrist, elbow, and upper extremities within a collaborative, community-focused, and academically affiliated healthcare environment. You will have the opportunity to treat a diverse patient population, including workers, athletes, seniors, and individuals with complex upper extremity injuries or disorders.
Key Responsibilities:Assessing and managing a wide range of upper extremity musculoskeletal issues, such as traumatic injuries, degenerative conditions, and nerve compression syndromes.
Executing advanced surgical interventions for the hand, wrist, forearm, and elbow, including microsurgery, tendon and nerve repairs, fracture fixations, and arthroscopic procedures.
Offering non-surgical treatment options and rehabilitation strategies for patients with upper extremity disorders.
Participating in orthopedic on-call duties.
Accurately documenting all clinical activities using the electronic health record (EHR) system.
Engaging in quality improvement projects, team discussions, and ongoing medical education.
Optional participation in clinical teaching or research through academic partnerships.
MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
Completion of an ACGME-accredited Orthopedic Surgery Residency.
Fellowship training in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery (Orthopedic or combined Plastic Surgery pathway).
Board-certified or board-eligible in Orthopedic Surgery.
Possession of an active Maryland medical license or eligibility to obtain one.
Proficiency in both surgical and non-surgical management of hand and upper extremity conditions, including trauma, arthritis, and nerve compression.
Expertise in microsurgical and reconstructive techniques.
Strong interpersonal abilities and a dedication to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
Experience in community engagement and education is advantageous.
