Orthopedic Registered Nurse (RN) – La Jolla, CA

 

A healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Orthopedic Registered Nurse (RN) to support patients throughout the surgical and recovery process. This opportunity is ideal for nursing professionals who enjoy patient education, post-operative care coordination, clinical triage, and helping patients achieve positive recovery outcomes.

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient assessments and assist with ongoing treatment planning

  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing support

  • Triage patient concerns and respond appropriately to clinical needs

  • Monitor patient recovery progress and identify potential complications

  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed

  • Educate patients and family members regarding procedures, recovery expectations, medications, and follow-up care

  • Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals

  • Support emergency protocols and clinical interventions when necessary

  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation

  • Provide telephone triage, patient guidance, and care coordination services

  • Promote patient safety, quality outcomes, and exceptional patient experiences

 

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for licensure

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Previous nursing experience required

  • Orthopedic, surgical, outpatient, ambulatory, emergency, operating room, or acute care experience preferred

  • Strong assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment

  • Excellent interpersonal and patient education abilities
