Position Summary
The Orthopedic Travel Surgical Technician (ST) provides specialized support for orthopedic surgical cases across multiple sites, including the main hospital and outpatient surgery center. When not assisting Orthopedic cases will be expected to assist in other surgical cases.
Qualifications
Current Surgical Technician Certification, Minimum 2 years' Operating Room experience with orthopedic focus. Experience with orthopedic implants and grafts required.
Strong understanding of sterile technique and perioperative standards. Flexibility and strong orthopedic expertise are required, along with the ability to support additional surgical specialties as needed. Adaptability to different teams, workflows, and case volumes required. Experience with robotics and advanced surgical technology.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide intraoperative support for orthopedic surgical procedures. Manage orthopedic implants, grafts, and instrumentation.
Maintain knowledge of orthopedic procedures including total joint and sports medicine.
Support General, Urology, Uro-GYN, GYN, ENT, Neuro, Podiatry, and Robotics when not assigned to orthopedic cases.
Schedule & Call Requirements
Full-time: 4 ten-hour shifts per week. Participating in call rotation including weekdays, weekends and holidays. Must maintain a 30-minute response time when on call. Schedule flexibility required based on surgical volume.
