BJC Medical Group is seeking a BC/BE Orthopedic Surgeon to join their successful group based at Alton Memorial Hospital just 15 minutes from St. Louis, Missouri. Practice Highlights:
• See a full-scope practice of orthopedic surgery • Specialty areas of interest are welcome • Highly established primary care referral network (be as busy as you want, right away!) • Strong APP support in clinic and hospital rounding • Call coverage is 1:7; APPs take initial calls, very rarely if ever get called in • Ample clinic staff including 7 APPs, 9 MAs, 9 schedulers, and 2 Athletic Trainers • Hospitalist admit for orthopedic surgeons

Role Purpose
Ensures optimal care and promotes safety of patients admitted to assigned service in cooperation with the private attending staff and nursing staff. Communicates with staff, patients, and families.
Responsibilities
• Manages the medical care of assigned patients. • Collaborates with patients, families, and members of the health care team to ensure excellent clinical outcomes. • Performs and documents histories and physicals in the patients medical record as required by hospital by-laws. • Supervises and instructs medical students and residents assigned to service. • Assists in the learning needs of residents and students as assessed.
