We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Orthopedic Technician to join our team. As an Orthopedic Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting orthopedic surgeons and other medical professionals in providing high-quality patient care. Your responsibilities will include performing various duties related to patient service, care, and support. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology who are passionate about helping patients in need.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Applications of casts and splints removal of casts
  • Fit patients for DME
  • Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are properly stocked with necessary supplies
  • Apply and remove casts, braces, and other orthopedic devices as directed by medical staff
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

Casting & splinting

  • Apply, mold, and remove plaster and fiberglass casts
  • Apply and remove splints, braces, walking boots, and other orthopedic devices per provider orders
  • Assess casts/splints for proper fit, comfort, and circulation; educate patients on cast/splint care and precautions
  • Durable Medical Equipment (DME) & bracing
  • Fit patients for DME (e.g., knee braces, wrist splints, slings, crutches, walkers, orthopedic boots)
  • Adjust and troubleshoot braces and supports to ensure proper alignment and function

Clinical Support

  • Prepare and turn over exam rooms; ensure rooms are stocked with orthopedic supplies (casting materials, splinting supplies, braces, DME)
  • Assist providers with orthopedic procedures (e.g., fracture care, joint injections, post-op dressing changes) as directed
  • Obtain and document vital signs and relevant history as needed

Documentation & coordination

  • Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Document procedures performed, devices applied, and patient education provided
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, medical assistants, and front office staff to support smooth clinic flow and high-quality patient care

Preferred:

  • Orthopedic Technician certification (e.g., OTC / Orthopaedic Technologist Certified)
  • Prior experience as an Orthopedic Technician, Cast Technician, or similar musculoskeletal support role
  • Experience using an EMR/EHR system in a clinical setting
  • BLS/CPR certification

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour depending on experience
