Position Summary
The Total Joint Orthopedic Surgeon plays a critical role within MultiCare Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, providing advanced care focused on joint preservation, replacement, and revision procedures. As a subspecialist in total joint surgery, this physician is part of a dynamic, collaborative team that includes Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), Physical Therapists, Nurses, and other allied professionals, all working together to restore function and enhance the quality of life for patients suffering from degenerative joint conditions.
This physician evaluates and manages patients with primarily hip, knee, and shoulder (if desired) disorders, offering expertise in joint replacement surgery, fracture management, and both operative and non-operative musculoskeletal care. The role encompasses surgical excellence, patient education, post-operative recovery support, and coordination with rehabilitation services to ensure optimal outcomes.
Responsibilities

Evaluate and diagnose patients with joint-related disorders, osteoarthritis, and musculoskeletal injuries
Perform total joint replacement procedures (e.g., hip, knee, +/- shoulder), including primary and revision surgeries
Utilize minimally invasive and evidence-based surgical techniques
Educate patients on surgical procedures, recovery expectations, and non-surgical treatment alternatives
Collaborate with rehabilitation specialists to plan comprehensive post-op recovery strategies
Participate in on-call rotation with the orthopedic provider team
Document clinical encounters accurately, maintaining compliance with hospital and regulatory standards

Requirements

Board certified/eligible at time of employment
Licensed in the state of WA by the time of employment
DEA, NPI & prescriptive authority
Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association
Orthopedic - Adult Reconstruction Fellowship or equivalent

Pay and Benefit Expectations
We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $854,401.00 - $854,401.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
