Monday-Friday clinic and OR, with night and weekend call rotation support
Pay Range:
$51.05 - $76.60
This role is dedicated to supporting the Total Joint Replacement Program, caring for patients undergoing hip and knee replacement procedures in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Position Overview
This position supports orthopedic total joint surgeons and includes a blend of outpatient clinic, inpatient rounding, and operating room responsibilities. The APP serves as an integral member of the orthopedic team, providing comprehensive care throughout the surgical journey, from pre-operative evaluation through post-operative recovery.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in outpatient clinic, inpatient, and operating room settings
Assist with pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative patient management
Serve as first assistant in the operating room as appropriate
Conduct patient evaluations, post-operative follow-up visits, and care coordination
Manage inpatient consultations, rounding, and discharge planning
Collaborate closely with orthopedic surgeons, nursing staff, rehabilitation teams, and care coordinators
Educate patients and families regarding surgical procedures, recovery expectations, and treatment plans
Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and patient experience
Participate in shared call coverage, including weekends and holidays
Candidate Qualifications
Prior orthopedic, surgical, or total joint experience preferred
Active North Carolina licensure as a Physician Assistant
Must possess or be eligible for DEA licensure
Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program required
NCCPA certification (PA) required
Strong clinical, communication, and collaborative skills
Opportunity Details
Monday-Friday schedule, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Combination of clinic, inpatient, and operating room responsibilities
Shared call rotation with varying call hours, including weekends and holidays
