About the Opportunity
We are seeking experienced FTTH Fiber Designers to support a large-scale, federally funded rural fiber expansion program. This is one of the largest fiber infrastructure initiatives in the companys history, with aggressive build timelines and strong production expectations.
This is a production-focused design role ideal for experienced fiber professionals who can ramp quickly and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) networks for rural expansion projects
Utilize ArcGIS Pro (Arc Pro) for fiber network design and mapping
Produce approximately 7 miles of design per week after ramp-up
Follow established engineering and design standards
Collaborate with Senior Engineers on assigned territories
Transition to independent design production within 46 weeks
Required Qualifications
3+ years of direct FTTH design experience (fiber-to-the-home required)
Hands-on experience using ArcGIS Pro
Strong understanding of outside plant (OSP) fiber network design
Experience meeting production-based design metrics
Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
Must provide home office equipment (laptop, dual monitors, reliable high-speed internet)
Preferred Experience
Rural broadband expansion projects (RDOF, BEAD, or similar federally funded programs)
ISP or telecom engineering firm background
Experience supporting large-scale fiber builds
What This Role Is Not
This position is not suited for:
HFC-only designers
Dark fiber/transport-only designers
Entry-level or junior designers needing extensive training
CAD-only backgrounds without GIS experience
Work Environment
100% Remote (any U.S. time zone)
