TITLE: OSR PRE-K LEAD TEACHER

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Human Environmental Science degree with a concentration in Early Childhood Development or Child Development -OR-
  • Early Childhood Education degree (B.S., B.A., or M.A./M.S.) or completion of a bachelor's degree program leading to P-3 certification in Early Childhood Education with a minimum of 18 credit hours in early childhood/child development coursework. -OR-
  • Special Education degree in Early Childhood with a minimum of 18 credit hours in early childhood/child development coursework, or a bachelor's degree program leading to certification in Early Childhood Special Education with a minimum of 18 credit hours in early childhood/child development coursework. -AND-
  • Alabama Teaching Certificate in Early Childhood Education (P-3) is required.

SUPERVISOR: OSR Director

JOB GOALS: To help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, ad responsible citizens.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Required to attend a minimum of 15 hours of OSR sponsored training each year plus 15 additional hours of training offered by local or regional programs, for a total of 30 training hours.
  • Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
  • Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interest, and abilities of the students.
  • Maintain a classroom environment that meets the documented standards of the Office of School Readiness First Class Pre-K Guidelines.
  • Provide for effective evaluation of the learning experience of each student utilizing Teaching Strategies Teach GOLD.
  • Provide regular school-home communication and engage parents and families of the OSR First Class program.
  • Maintain necessary attendance, scholastic, personnel, and submit them according to announced deadlines.
  • Follow all OSR guidelines.
  • Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the Principal may assign.
