The Wausau School District is seeking an Out-of-School Enrichment Site Coordinator to work at G.D. Jones Elementary School with before and after school activities that empower, enrich and engage students. Promote partnerships between families, school and community agencies to advance learning, achievement and success.
This position will work 23.75 hours per week (primarily afternoon and early evening hours) with FLEXIBLE hours. 200 Calendar days are the school year plus days before school starts and after school ends.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Design, coordinate and promote out-of-school(OOS) programs.
Recruit, train, schedule and oversee OOS staff, volunteers and activity assistants.
Secure program meeting space, ensure OOS staff coverage and coordinate daily snacks for participating students.
Serve as a liaison with community partners. Develop partnerships with outside agencies to meet student/family needs.
Create an environment which is inclusive and welcoming for students, parents and community.
Establish and maintain open communication with staff about student needs and the site OOS program.
Serve as contact person for referral and enrollment of students, transportation needs, disciplinary problems or other student needs.
Maintain site policies for the operation of the OOS program. Oversee the building, staff and students in the OOS hours.
Communicate media opportunities regarding school programs to the communication department.
Attend staff meetings or training relating to OOS programs as requested.
Maintain records/reports for program administration and evaluation.
Promote OOS program using school newsletters, web sites, school messenger, social media and other forms of electronic and paper communication.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Elementary school specific
Coordinate or assist with school-based family programs such as Family Nights, F.A.S.S.T. or Love and Logic.
Work directly with the school PTO or other parent groups and attend meetings. Collaborate to help foster two-way communication and input.
Work a 200 day calendar which includes Professional Learning Days and is responsive to the needs of the school activities, events and meetings, prior to, during and after the close of the school day/ year.
Depending on the site, serve on the Title I Advisory Committee and help to recruit parent representatives.
Provide outreach to families to orient and integrate into the school community.
Plan and implement special math and/or literacy projects.
