Outlet Manager

The Outlet Manager is responsible for leading the outlet facility team in the daily operations, personnel management, financial reporting, receiving & shipping, processing, storage, shipping, record keeping, recycling and safety regulations directly related to a store.

Pay Rate: $65,000-75,000/year DOE

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

  • Ensure all warehouse and storage processes meet daily requirements.
  • Ensures product flow and service are maintained daily, determines work procedures, prepares work schedules and expedites workflow.
  • Manages warehouse, salvage, operations and facility budget
  • Select, train, and direct the activities of employees setting expectations to provide an efficient, congenial, cost effective work force. Promotes productivity by following up with employees on work results.
  • Plans and implements warehouse and storage layout according to raw and salvage inventory and supplies needed.
  • Works effectively and communicates with other Goodwill departments as needed.
  • Maintains equipment according to recommended procedures and policies.
  • Schedules and maintains periodic inventories.
  • Prepare reports by collecting, documenting and summarizing information.
  • Complete projects by planning, organizing and monitoring assignments.
  • Holds regular departmental meetings.
  • Ensures Goodwill Industries International (GII) compliance and updates.
  • Must be cross trained in all areas of the Outlet retail operations.
  • Ensure the maintenance of all mechanical equipment according to recommended procedures.
  • Works in tandem with Sr. Director of Logistics, Warehouse and Post Retail Strategy quality service to all stores and donation sites.
  • Uphold safe work practices in support of a safety culture through awareness and observation; train and educate employees of safety requirements; reports any potential hazards or accidents.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Goodwill's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; monitoring performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems. Partner with People Relations as needed and appropriate.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED, college degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience leading teams in warehouse environment.
  • Strong knowledge of production and warehouse facilities.
  • Experience with basic accounting practices and bookkeeping
  • Strong communication skills, verbal, and written
  • Customer Service skills

Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:

  • Evergreen Goodwill Forklift Certification within six months of hire date.
  • Must have current WA State driver's license and insurance.

Computer/Technology Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and Teams.
  • Ability to learn new technology and software as related to the job.

Physical Abilities:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required sit for long periods of time, communicate with other employees by talking and hearing, required to lift and carry items weighing up to 30-40 pounds and to operate computer systems. Developed fine motor control (grasp, handle, manipulate objects with fingers; frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, squatting, pushing; climbing ladders; standing for long periods of time; Able to travel across a variety of surfaces (stairs, ramps, uneven terrain). Extended standing on hard surfaces; ability to operate heavy machinery is a safe and responsible manner. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Able to communicate with others effectively both verbally and written, including those who have limited English skills. Maintain reliable attendance.

Work Environment:

Warehouse environment, temperature varies, loud noises, occasional crowds. Exposure to dust. Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
