Bartender & Barback – The Outlook Restaurant

Salary:
Bartenders: $6.75 per hour + tips
Barbacks: $15.00 per hour + tips

The Outlook Restaurant is looking for energetic, dependable, and hospitality-driven Bartenders and Barbacks to join our team.

Whether you're crafting cocktails behind the bar, helping guests find their new favorite drink, or keeping the bar stocked and running smoothly, you'll play an important role in delivering the experience our guests expect.

• Maintain exceptional service standards for guests at the bar and throughout the restaurant.
• Take and prepare food and beverage orders quickly and accurately.
• Create high-quality cocktails with consistency, proper presentation, and attention to detail.
• Stay proactive by restocking, cleaning, organizing, and keeping the bar guest-ready throughout each shift.
• Develop a strong knowledge of The Outlook Restaurant's food and beverage menus to confidently answer questions and make recommendations.
• Build genuine connections with guests and help create memorable dining experiences.
• Work closely with bartenders, servers, barbacks, kitchen staff, and management to keep service running smoothly.
• Maintain a positive attitude and professional, friendly demeanor, even during busy periods.

Previous experience as a bartender, barback, server, or other front-of-house (FOH) restaurant position is highly desirable.

Shift Length: Approximately 8–9 hours
Weekend Availability: Required
Daytime Availability: Needed for private functions and special events

Responsibilities

• Greet and engage guests in a friendly and professional manner.
• Maintain exceptional service standards for guests at the bar and in the dining area.
• Take and prepare drink and food orders quickly and accurately.
• Prepare high-quality cocktails consistently and according to restaurant standards.
• Maintain strong knowledge of The Outlook Restaurant's food, cocktail, beer, wine, and beverage offerings.
• Make knowledgeable recommendations and help drive beverage and food sales.
• Restock liquor, beer, wine, mixers, glassware, ice, and other bar supplies as needed.
• Keep the bar, service areas, equipment, and workstations clean, organized, and sanitary.
• Understand and follow all applicable alcoholic beverage laws and responsible alcohol-service requirements.
• Verify identification and ensure responsible service of alcoholic beverages.
• Be of legal age to serve alcohol in accordance with state requirements.
• Accurately and efficiently operate the restaurant's point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and quality standards.
• Stand for the duration of scheduled shifts and safely lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Assist teammates wherever needed to ensure smooth and efficient service.
