JOB SUMMARY An Outpatient Pharmacy Technician in a health system setting supports pharmacists in providing safe, accurate, and patient-centered pharmacy services across outpatient pharmacy operations. Responsibilities include processing and preparing prescriptions, assisting patients with medication pick-up and over-the-counter products, handling insurance claims and prior authorizations, maintaining inventory and medication supplies, operating point-of-sale systems, and ensuring compliance with health system policies, state and federal regulations, and patient privacy standards. The technician collaborates closely with pharmacists, healthcare providers, clinic staff, and patients to promote continuity of care and enhance the overall patient experience.
