Winter Haven Hospital, part of the BayCare Health System, is seeking a compassionate and motivated Outpatient Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Pool PRN to join our multidisciplinary rehabilitation team. The Speech Therapist will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with communication, cognitive-linguistic, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders in an outpatient setting. This role provides the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population while delivering high-quality patient-centered care.
Outpatient Speech Therapist SLP Pool PRN Responsibilities:
• Perform comprehensive speech language cognitive voice and swallowing evaluations for outpatient populations. • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on physician orders and patient goals. • Provide evidence-based therapy for adult and/or pediatric patients based on program needs. • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, progress, and home exercise programs. • Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals. • Document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge summaries accurately and timely in the EMR. • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and professional standards. • Support quality improvement initiatives and patient satisfaction efforts.
Patient Populations May Include:
• Neurological conditions (e.g., stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinsons disease) • Voice and fluency disorders • Cognitive-communication disorders • Dysphagia • Developmental and acquired speech-language disorders
Qualifications:
• Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology • Florida State License in Speech-Language Pathology • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
